No major or minor repairs except maint. And gets24 or25 mpg with a 50/50 split between highway and town driving. Still only uses 1/2 qt. Of oil at 4k oil change.

  • The Best Ride - 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport
    By -

Ive had this vehicle for 6 years now, the only problem with it was that the radio went out. We love taking it on trips its great on the road most recently we came back from Mexico where we drove for over 35hrs only stopping for gas vehicle performed well and was very comfortable to drive. The reliable V6 has power when you need it. Just a Great vehicle overall!

  • maybe best car we ever had - 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport
    By -

This car was ordered by us, loaded. It has serverd us well. Trips to the villa in Hilton Head, parents 3 hours away, one child through college with dorm moves twice a year 4 hours away, another in 2nd year 3 hours away and various other trips. We carry two people and alot of stuff or six people and still a lot of stuff with a carrier on the top. Gas mileage is up to 27 mpg on the road and the range is about 600 miles.

  • Reliable - 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport

Ive had my Trans Sport for about 4 years now and I would drive it anywhere with no fear of it "breaking down" or not getting good mileage. I get about 26-28 mpg on the hwy and about 20-24 in the city. Ive had nothing but pleasure from driving both of my Pontiacs. I had a 1995 Grand Am that was also an awesome vehicle. Ive taken multiple road trips in both and trust them completly to get my family there and back safely.

  • Hard to replace - 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport
    By -

Purchased in 98. While we did experience the lovely Dex-cool challenge & intake manifold gasket problems, I have loved my van. Faced with the challenge of finding a new vehicle 11+ years later, few seem to match the bells and whistles we got on our Montana, nor the mileage for the size of the vehicle. Unfortunately, the engineers responsible for it are now likely unemployed - we didnt qualify for Cash for Clunkers due to the great mileage. Vehicle aged well, is still sound, durable, and comfortable, but starting to have small maintenance problems, prompting us to get a new vehicle. The perfect vehicle made for my familys use. Got us through the travelling years (soccer, football, camping)

  • Underrated - a fine automobile - 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport

After nearly 10 years of service, it has never been found wanting. I average 24 mpg with over 107 k miles.

  • Wish it could last forever - 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport
    By -

Purchased used with 45,000 miles on it. Dealer included new tires. Just replaced those in summer of 2006. Only other replacement was battery after 4 years(still factory issue). The only problems have been with the rear shocks. Replaced both due to clamp failure. Great gas mileage. Great ride. Very dependable with loads of room. With rear seats out you have a covered truck. Cant imagine life without my van.
